Consumer sites - lawn tractor advice?

Q) Anyone know of any good free consumer advise sites. I really don't feel like subscribing to Consumer Reports paid site as I don't think I would use it enough to be worth the money. Any opinions on Kohler vs Briggs & Stratton on lawn tractors? I need to buy before my grass starts getting too long. I moved into a new home on 3 acres of land, and my old push mower just isn't going to be enough. I am leaning toward a Huskee 46" lawn tractor at Tractor Supply Co. with a 20hp Kohler engine. I was really disappointed with the quality of the Briggs & Stratton engine on my last push mower, but I really don't know much about Kohler.

A) A Kohler is a better engine than Briggs and Stratton. I have owned a Kohler since the 1970's and it is still running to this day. I have also had bad luck with B&S and now I only buy Honda engines. They are superior to both of the above. But, yes, the Kohler is better and I would recommend oil changes on a regular basis, and even change the oil for the heck of it when the weather gets really hot. Another important aspect for regualr maintenance is changing the air filter on a regular basis, as well as oil changes. Good Luck.
