how much do gyms cost london?

Q) hi i'm 13 and me and my friend whose 14 want to know how much it cost to join a gym in London because we would like to get in shape. (by gym i mean treadmills,weights e.t.c.) the gyms round my area at Harper Fitness hopefully that helps.

A) They cost a lot and won't do much for you. Clean the bath, sweep the floor, do the dishes, cut the grass, clean the car, walk or run to school - it's all great exercise,and will exercise all your developing muscles in a natural way - it is free and serves some purpose!

A) It has to be the best gym in the world, Gold's Gym. They Have Flexibility and balance classes. They have lots of plasma screens. You have your own trainer You get a diet plan Gold's Gym branches are the best plus this is where arnold trained. I am not from london so I dont know lot's of gyms but you can search london's yellow pages. And you can do bodyweight exercises like these if you cant find a gym when you travel. Does PPP offer its members subsidised membership to any gyms in London?

Q) I have PPP medical insurance and thought that someone might know if i can use any gyms at a reduced fee

A) Not when I was a member but then again its difficult enough to get the NHS to do the same for the truly needy

A) all gyms will let you pay for one day it might be 10 dollars or so but they will .

Anyone else think it's ironic that the London Borough to host the 2012 Olympic Games only has 4 gyms?!?

Q) I live in Stratford in Newham (East London) and the council are always banging on about how great the Olympics will be for local residents. I just think it's crazy that all this money is being pumped into a place that won't be able to nurture its budding athletes. At the moment the shortest possible journey to my nearest gym takes 40 minutes (providing the buses are on time) because there are only 4 in the whole borough, and, as a matter of fact, my nearest gym isn't even in Newham! How long does everyone else travel to get to the gym? When are Fitness First/LA Fitness/Holmes Place/Esporta gonna start opening up gyms in my local area?!

A) What's really ironic is that the country that is hosting the 2012 olympic games hasn't got a decent athlete. I'm British by the way...

Cheap central London gyms?

Q) Pretty self explanatory title :) Anyone know of any good gyms which are actually CHEAP rather than 50 quid per month and such? Preferably within 15 mins walking distance of High Holborn or Covent Garden etc I really want to tone up and get fit but it's bloody hard for me at the moment without joining a gym.

Q) I am fed up with gyms. They are overcrowded, I can't use the equipment I want, when I go to classes someone always stepping all over me (too crowded again), and I even have to wait for shower to be "free". Not talking about hassle I get if I want to cancel my membership! How dare! And I am talking about majority of gyms - this is London after all. Are there any others indoor sport related activities where I can just go maybe 1-2 per week and not feel like a sardine? I just want to keep healthy but gyms are all the same - corporate machines, take too many people in and then I lose interest...Well?

A) there is nothing that morales can do to win,why? his body will not let him survive at that weight any longer,as long as he's at that weight he'll lose to old ladies, because he'll be weak.if he goes to 140 or 147 he will still lose because he won't be strong enough to keep those little monsters off of him and finally he has had enough..i think the thrill is gone.

A) Try the Serpentine Lido which is located in Hyde park. Do a search as I am unsure of the opening times and admission charges etc. It is outdoors but the weather is not too bad at the moment.
