I have on of those dvd camcorder (sony handycam) I cant seem to copy what I have recorded to my hard drive or?

Q) to another CD, What software do I need and where can I get it?

A) I got vers.4 of dvPerfect when I bought my firewire ieee1394 pci card for $19.95 from a catalog. dvPerfect is now on about vers.7 and offers no upgrade, but the price on vers.4 was OK (free) and it works. I prefer it to edit the tape into movie with instead of Nero. Nero7 will also work with a firewire card to capture. And of course, you need the special firewire cable that is very small on the end that connects the dv cam and a "tombstone" shaped plug on the other end for the firewire to the computer. The cable should have come with your Sony, otherwise it's like $50. All video capture starts by recording to your hard drive.

I can not connect Sony Camcorder(NTSC) with Sony DVD Recorder(PAL) via i-link.?

Q) PAL DVD Recorder doesn't accept NTSC Comcorder? Is ther any way (repair, buy adopter(?) etc) to be able to connect? Please help me !!

A) You do NOT need a USB cable for a DVD camcorder - Instead try it this way Use a programme such as Ulead VideoStudio - you take the mini-disc out of your camcorder and put it into the DVD tray of your PC making sure it sits centrally in the little depression made for it. You may have to 'finalise' the mini DVD your camera manual will tell you how to do that. Inside VideoStudio you select "Insert DVD" and point the programme at the DVD and follow the prompts and the video is copied from the disc into the timeline of VideoStudio so that you can edit it - add lots of different videos together - add titles/music/narration - and finally burn to a full size DVD to play in a standard player. Sony Hard disc camcorder: cannot find CD/DVD drive on computer?

Q) The camera DCR-SR32 is operating with Picture Motion Software, I have no problems downloading from the camera etc., but when I try to burn to my CD/DVD drive it tells me the drive cannot be found??? I have tried all the settings in the software but it just will not allow me to view or access my CD/DVD drive, can anyone help?

A) some computer CD drives only burn CD and not DVD. The DVD is a read only function. you might check that out.

how to transfer video from sony DV tape camcorder DCR-HC24E to DVD using liteon DVD recorder + laptop?

Q) I have installed everything, read the instruction book and have managed a couple of DVDs but each time i try again i really struggle to make it work and usually end up without havingtransferred the video. I do not find the instruction book very helpful. can someone explain an easy way? my laptop has no DVD recorder, so i am using a liteon external one. many thanks

sony Camcorder, how do I transfer film to pc for burning onto dvd?

Q) Please can you help, I have a camcorder I bought about five yrs ago and several films that are full, some is rubbish, how do I edit them onto pc, copying what I want or cutting out bits I dont want. I still have the connection lead and manual but can not find the cd that came with it. Would appreciate help on process in easy to understand language and also if I need driver how to get one. A) I have added an link to PIXEL Image Mixer this is the disk that came with my Sony camcorder in 2002.I use it to edit my photos and films from my camcorder.As of the rest do you still have the manual??,as this will explain how to take photos on the film and to the memory stick,if you have lost this you should look on Sony.com and find an on line copy for your camcorder.One more thing you could download from Microsoft Movie maker 3 free this will do the same as the Prixea CD.

how do i copy the video footage off my camcorder to a dvd?

Q) i have a sony camcorder (digital) it records onto a mini dv cassette. i have a pc with a dvd rewriter drive and a cable to link the two. i have also installed the driver for the camcorder and some of the software , but it only seems to record in mp3 format to my pc and not direct to a dvd. this uses up so much space and still no copy on dvd! whatcan i do?

A) i copy from a Sony Mini-DV camcorder direct to a Sony DVD recorder through Firewire (ilink) and avoid the PC altogether..You can copy on the fly. You control the camera via the dvd recorder. very easy

Q) I would like to know.. if i will buy a DVD sony camcorder, would any blank dvd work with the camcorder? or, I should just buy the original SONY blank DVD specific for that camcorder?

A) Sony products seem to work better together so Sony dvd's would be my first option. That being said, I used to have a Sony dvd camcorder and bought the Memorex & Fujifilm mini-dvd's(Costco/BJ's) 10pk to use and never had a problem. If you can get a decent brand in a larger pack,save money and try them first.Good luck!

Sony DVD Camcorder 405?

Q) I just bought a Sony DVD Camcorder and along with it an i.Link Cable 4 pin to 6 pin. I have A Dell Dimension 4700C computer, and I can't get the i Link cable to work. What am I doing wrong? It won't fit. Did I make a mistake a need a 2 pin?

i just bought dvd camcorder sony from best buy ,it was open box item and is missing cd rom . it will not work?

how do i convert multiple sony camcorder mini DVD's to a single regular DVD?

Q) I have a Sony camcorder with mini DVD media. I created multiple mini DVD's for a single event and now I want to create a single normal DVD after chopping off some of the unwanted scenes. What is the best way to achieve it? The bundled Sony software is very very user-unfriendly.

A) The simplest way is to upload all your mini DVD to a Pioneer HDD/DVD recorder via a fire-wire or iLink cable. After uploading you can edit all the video into charters,or combine titles, delete unwanted shooting error and even name the titles for easy eccess when on dvd MENU. After all this is done, just burn to into dvd disc on the same recorder. Pioneer brand of recorder happen to be very user-friendly.

A) Looks like panasonic is the only company that has a 3ccd DVD cam. on the market currently, vdr d300/400, with mic input and USB out (very important if you want to get your video into a nonlinear editor without much of a headache. Either USB or Firewire). Couldn't find any 3ccd sony or canon. Also appears that all of the HDD cams out right now are all 1ccd.
