Dyson all floor Carpet Cleaner?

Q) My carpet cleaner fell half way up from the stair while I was hoovering ( yes I was daft and clumsy to put it there) the cylnder broke at the base I need a replacement any ideas where I can puchase a spare cylinder in Dundee?

A) Get on the web and Dyson. There are lists of all replacement parts and also you can get in direct touch with them if you are not sure what you require. I have been told that Dyson are great at supporting the customers so good luck. I sent for a spare part and had it within 4 days.

steam cleaner/or carpet shampoo cleaner?

Q) hi, our carpets r filthy (mainly cos of our dog) stained but we've also got fleas in carpets im wondering if its better for me to buy Hometek steam mop as everyone swears by it or would i be better hiring a carpet shampoo machine like Rugdoctor? I want 1. to clean the dirty marks off 2. to get rid of the fleas in the carpet, (have tried sprays and hoovering - not working) does a steam mop get the dirty marks out? would it be better 2 shampoo it? please help?

A) Hire a good carpet cleaner. Once your carpet is clean cover it with flea powder and leave for at least 15 minutes and then hoover. Repeat with flea powder every 5 days or so, during which time use a flea treatment on your dog.

A) I would say Kirby's are the best; however I refuse to pay $1800 for one. Lucky for me, the Kirby salesman demonstrated one on my couch, thereby saving me the hassle of getting a one-year supply of shed cat hair off. They do pick up pet hair like nobody's business; Oreck cleaners work well too. If you are looking for carpet steam cleaners, I really like my Hoover model. I forget which model... but it's fantastic whatever it is.

Good hoover / vacuum cleaner for pet hairs? (UK)?

A) it doesn't matter on the make or model so long as it has an adaptor for pet hairs.... its the two way fabric that picks up in one direction then drops it so the vacuum can suck it up. You can bye them separately at around £5.00 Oh and go bag-less I found that much better. If you want it for alleges go for the Hoover it has a 7 filtration system whereas the Dyson only has 5 and the Hoover is the only one recommended by the British allege association

What is the best material to go for when buying a carpet -especially for easy-care and lack of static?

A) 80/20% wool mixture is the best! I've been a carpet fitter for 20 years. A woven carpet such as axminster is also your best bet.

A) nope...not permantley. It will remove the adult fleas, but leave the eggs and larva, so you'll still have the problem. You should get a professional exterminator out there and then clean the carpets. Oh and the powders actually cause your carpet fibers to break down...don't use them ;)

how can i get the pollen from Lillie's out of my carpet?

A) Pollen stains are the equivalent to dye stains. It is always best to clip the 'anthers" and remove the potential for dye stains from fresh flowers. When dealing with pollen stains on fabric, it will require a solvent cleaner like denatured alcohol or dry cleaning fluid & white rag, blotting from outside the stain toward the middle. .

Q) Whats everyones cleaning routines each day... My boyfriend says I do too much cleaning so I wanna know everyone elses. I get up about 8 start cleaning at 9. I dust everywhere, clean the inside of my windows (small child) clean my couch, hoover, wipe down whatever marks on the carpet. clean tv. Make each bed, dust bedrooms. Fabreze the beds and curtains. Hoover rooms. Do all the kitchen and bathroom. bleaching etc. Cant b bothered saying everything. This is normal isnt it, if your clean?! He thinks i have OCD! honestly... The other day I sat down from tidying up at 3 in the afternoon. I had been playin with my child etc throughout tho. And plus, I go round in circles sometimes, she follows me, destroying everything i tidy lol

A) You havent got OCD..you are the same as me..Clean & Very tidy!! Its worse when you have 3 kids as I'm constantly picking things up, wiping them over...just concern they dont get a broken neck or diahorrea really innit. Happy cleaning :D

Q) Hello, I have misplaced the Owner's Manual for my Hoover Carpet Cleaner F5861-900 and have a problem that I'm trying to fix myself (in lieu of taking it in for repair). The brushes are not rotating and I think maybe there's a belt or something that is broken or need replace. I have checked on Hoover.com and my model is not listed anywhere on the site, although I get a number of hit on the net, but none for owner's manual. I was in the middle of cleaning my carpet when I noticed the brushes weren't turning. I'd appreciate any help. I cannot afford to tie my cleaner up right now in a repair shop

Do you have to use the same carpet cleaner the directions tell you to use?

Q) I was given a Hoover carpet cleaner and the directions say to "only use Hoover brand carpet cleaning solution". I had a Bissle so I have the Bissle brand solution. Why do I have to use 1 with 1 and can't use 1 with 2? If I do use The Bissle in the Hoover, what's going to happen to the machine?

A) No, use what you want. Sometimes a few drops of dishwashing liquid will do in a fix. I use some brand from Wal-Mart mostly, but I just cannot think of the name.

Does anyone own the Bissell Pro Heat Carpet Cleaner?? Need help.?

Q) Ok, this is weird. I owned a Hoover carpet cleaner for many years and NEVER had this happen. This was given to me as a gift (Bissell Pro Heat), yes a gift, and I use the recommended solution for it, and even used the Walmart Brand solution too. I have a beige carpet and most of the times when the carpet dries, there are light brown spots. They are horrible looking and when I go over it, again, it gets worst. I have used cold water in the machine and not using the heat, and I've used the hot water, and still spots appear. Why is this? Anyone else out there had this problem? These stains were not there before I shampoo. They appear after I clean. I clean all brushes and tanks after each use. Ok, more info I forgot. This carpet is 10yrs old and usually had a professional do it. Then bought the Hoover because I clean alot and having someone come in got real expensive. The Bissell was given as a gift. They appear in all different areas. Not the same place.

A) I work for a bissell warranty center, and I have a carpet cleaning certification through a reputable company. The term for whats happening to your carpet is browning. Soap is designed to attract dirt to it, so that when you extract the soap(shampoo) back out, the dirt comes with it. If you don't get all the soap back out, the residue will attract dirt, and the result is browning. The big secret in cleaning carpet well, is to go over it again with a "rinsing agent". This is a product designed to break down shampoo and neutralize it. Since you've already shampooed your carpets before, there's probably a lot of residue built up in it already. I would just use a rinse the next time, and you might be pleasantly surprised by the results. Misco makes a product called "Rinse and Neutralizer." That's the best stuff I've found. You probably won't find it in a big box store. You might have to go Janitorial Supply house. Regardless of what anyone says, it will not hurt your machine, in fact, it helps get the hard water and shampoo build up back out of the lines, pump, and heater. The machine will work better and last longer if you use it. If you can't find it let me know and I will help you.

What is a better deep cleaner for carpet? Bissell or Hoover??

A) As a vacuum cleaner store owner and a 26 yeas in the industry wholesale and retail. Both manufacture have multi models of machines I think hoove has a slight edge over bisselll. they are both of low qulity machines made for big box stores like wall mart made in china throw away machines. Riccar is one of the only american made machine with high preformance and quality made , Sebo and bosch are good quality german made machines

steam cleaner or hoover???????

Q) pleeeeeeease help??????? our dog has flees and carpets/house have them, weve used sprays,power and are treatin him with frontline. but i want to get rid of teh b****ers, theyre still jumpin on me! would steam cleaning the carpets be better than hoovering? cos weve done this since friday 7th sept and we still have them also do steam cleaners sterilize the floor and take dirty marks off carpets ????? i cant stand it :0( :0( please advice thanks

A) It's time to call in a professional. You've done your best but they have bested you. As you've found out neither vacuuming nor steam cleaning gets rid of them. Home steam cleaners do a good job of cleaning carpets but a professional does a better job. I use my steam cleaner to keep high traffic areas clean and that also helps keep the carpet fibers from breaking down. It's amazing how dirty carpets can get in those areas. I use a pro though to do the entire house.

A) Vinegar is the best way to clean your carpets. Using soap will only build up in time. Call a professional in. I would never ever use Stanley Steamer again, even if it was for free. What a mistake that was. Call a local professional in. You can also rent a shampooer pretty cheap, but watch on how much soap you use. Use less than what is recommended. Also you can buy for about $100 one of the shampooers in a store. Again, watch your soap, not too much! :-)
