A) There is a band from Liverpool called THE BOOTLEG BEATLES. Seen them in a club in north wales,they were excellent.

A) What's your budget? How many people? How long do you have to decide? Are most people flying in for the party, or is almost everybody local? (Travel restrictions could prohibit some party ideas for the fliers at the gathering.) What's something that people will think of you when they see/use? A) Have a party that pertains to his way of life 60 years ago. Make model cafe from the 50s and 60s. Guys wearing leather, girls wearing dresses with hoola-hoop. A type of Fonzy thing. Let your mind run free. Also, the twist and a bubble gum contest.

A) Forget the coffins. That's just too over done and depressing. How about something like through the years? Different parts of the room be decorated in the 50's, 60's, 70's ...etc. Nice touch starting with his baby pic.

Ideals on 60th Birthday Party for my Mom ......?

A) June is a good month for outdoor parites. You can check with the parks and rec depts. in your area and see if you can rent a park site that has bbq pits, some places even have swimming pools or tennis courts. That would take care of the space and cut down on price. It also makes it easier for the food. If you are really on a budget, the dollar store is a good place to go for decorations, if not party stores usually have everything you need to decorate. And since its at a park you can rent a jumper if there will be kids there too. If not, usually they have playgrounds too. Good luck. I'm sure your mom will enjoy it.

Any ideas for a Parrot-head's 60th birthday party?

Q) This summer my husband, a devoted Parrothead, will have a major birthday. We are planning a party at a lodge right on the beach. The food (cheeseburgers, shrimp on the barbee, drunken fruit) and drinks (Corona & Margaritas) are a given. I need ideas for decorations. We have the tiki bar, the floral leis, and pirate hats. If any Parrotheads have some ideas to help us raise the standards on the decor, I'll really appreciate the help. Fins to the left!

A) How about finding some cute little glass Salt shakers, and some puffy glass paint. Then decorate, and write the words "lost shaker of salt" as a party favor. Also, maybe you could get some coconuts and cut the tops off and use as planters for table centerpieces . Then sprinkle some colored beach glass (kinda like confetti on the tables). I really love all the novelty strands of lights you can buy these days, like strands of chili peppers or palm trees. Oh, and don't forget some Juicy Fruit! A) Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing: Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two, family and friends would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it! The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle. Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard. Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

A) I was at a Joann's fabric store recently, and they had this really cool thing ... it was journal like books for various occassions ... you send out pages for people to write aboiut the person you are honouring, it had other stuff in it too ... sorry i am not explaining this well .... you might check their online store, or google it .... it was really neat....

A) For our parents 50th anniversary, my brother and I put together a DVD slide show of their life together. It was a big project, starting with pictures of them when they were dating.... births of children.... etc. It was 50 years of life together. The show is about 45 minutes long and not the kind of thing you show to everyone, but for a family celebration it is good. My parents were very touched and moved when they saw it. You might do one, starting with his earliest baby pictures and go through his life up to today. Best Wishes, Sue

A) A 60th birthday party - how nice of you! I would ask all of the party guests to give you a story or photos or something they remember about this person from their time together as friends, and then make a scrapbook that will not only be a gift for the birthday girl, but also something fun that all of the guests can look through when they are at the party. You could have a picnic in the park theme, then you don't need a lot of decorations because nature has decorated it for you! If it's in cooler weather, reserve something indoors, or find someone on the guest list who has a large enough home that wouldn't mind hosting. Helium balloons don't cost too much, you could pick a color scheme she likes and get balloons in those colors. Brown is very trendy right now combined with a color like pink, light blue, or light green. You really need to have balloons at a birthday party. Make or buy a big cake, cake is really "birthday" specific too. Many store bakeries will make a cake with a photo of the birthday person on it. Be sure and have someone there with a nice camera to take some candid photos, as well as some nice lasting shots of the honoree and her guests.
